COMMUNITY RESILIENCE

At Techos Pa' Mi Gente we believe that the knowledge and tools to be better prepared for future emergencies are essential for theC community resilience.

NEED

Puerto Rico is an archipelago frequently affected by natural disasters, especially hurricanes, which occur every year. These events not only cause physical damage to infrastructure, but also put the safety and well-being of our communities at risk.

HOW WE WORK

Our work focuses on empowering communities with the skills and resources needed to confront and recover from natural disasters. Through workshops, training, and access to vital resources, we are building a support network that strengthens the response and recovery capacity of our communities.

TRAINING

We recognize that education is essential to preparing people for future disasters. For this reason, we provide workshops to train the community on topics such as construction, emergency preparedness, safety and hygiene in construction, among other topics.

For more information about these activities or if you would like to volunteer, please call 787-296-8443 or email volunteersmanager@tpmgcorp.org.

HUERTO PA' MI GENTE
(COMMUNITY GARDEN)

The lack of food and local products was one of the challenges after Hurricane Maria and many went hungry. For this reason, we decided to start a community garden in our Operations Center in which we produce food and provide agricultural workshops to the community.

If you would like more information on how to participate in the garden activities, please contact 787-296-8443 or email agriculturecoordinator@tpmgcorp.org.

PERCHA PA' MI GENTE
(COMMUNITY CLOSET)

Percha Pa' Mi Gente was an idea that arose in April 2021, when the need to provide clothing to participants who had lost everything due to fungi and humidity due to deterioration in their homes was identified. From then on, we started collecting donations of clothing and shoes to offer to the families we were assisting at that time. Starting in 2022, after observing the needs in our immediate community, we extended the initiative to give our community the opportunity to access these donations and second-hand clothing. Since then, we have decided to open our center for this activity every last Saturday of each month.

If you would like to volunteer in this initiative, please call 787-296-8443 or email volunteersmanager@tpmgcorp.org.
