ROOF RECONSTRUCTION AND HOUSE REHABILITATION
At Techos Pa' Mi Gente we believe that every family deserves a safe place to call Home, and we work tirelessly to make this fundamental right a reality.
NEED FOR RECONSTRUCTION
Unfortunately, many families have lost the security of their homes due to devastating natural disasters such as Hurricane Maria, Fiona, and the recent earthquakes. Despite the time that has passed, many of these families have still not received the support necessary to rebuild their lives. This is where our mission comes in: providing a decent and safe roof to those who need it most.
HOW WE WORK
The reconstruction is carried out with volunteer labor led by construction professionals, following the guidelines of the College of Engineers and Surveyors of Puerto Rico (CIAPR), the Federal Disaster Management Agency (FEMA) and engineer Johann Zimmerman. Additionally, we depend on the generosity of organizations, companies, and donors like you to continue this mission since we do not receive federal funds for rebuilding.
WHO WE SERVE
People whose roofs were affected by natural disasters since 2017 can request guidance. The selection of families for reconstruction projects is carried out using non-discriminatory criteria and depending on the resources we have at the time.
Currently, we are only working on wood and galvanized zinc or metal (galvalume) roofs.
For more information on how to request guidance, please call: 787-296-8443 or send an email to casefacilitator@tpmgcorp.org.
WANT TO BE A VOLUNTEER?
Reconstruction depends on volunteers like you who want to make a difference. In the reconstruction program there are different areas to volunteer such as: demolition, unloading materials, construction, cooking for volunteers, among others. If you want more information on how you can join this effort, call 787-296-8443 or send an email to volunteersmanager@tpmgcorp.org
