WHAT IS CERT?
The Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) program exposes volunteers to disaster preparedness for hazards that may affect their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue operations, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
CERT provides a consistent and nationwide approach to training and organizing volunteers on whom professional first responders can rely during disaster situations, allowing them to focus on more complex tasks. Through CERT, disaster preparedness, response, and recovery capacities are developed and strengthened.

On May 6, 7, and 8, 2025, the CERT program was carried out at the operations center of Techos Pa' Mi Gente.
Over the course of two days, participants received both theoretical and practical training in emergency preparedness and response.
The process concluded with a written exam and the awarding of the official certification for the TPMG team.
